Ok handbag whores – how many times do you switch handbags with your homies? I know I have a few out on loan, a few that I won’t allow to leave the house without my presence, and a few that I probably forgot that I lent out.
Anyway – BagBorroworSteal.com – is a handbag “rental” program working ust like netflix – the dvd movie rental gig. You pay a monthly membership to “borrow” any bags within your membership tier, you get the bag in the mail within a couple days with a pre-paid return label… you rock the bag till your tired of it, then you return it and pick another bag. If you don’t wanna be without a bag during the return process, you can upgrade your membership for like 8 bucks more a month which allows you to ‘borrow’ 2 bags at the same time. You also get the option to purchase the bag if you love it, and also purchase insurance for an additional 5 bucks a month or something in case your shit gets folded.
they offer memberships in three tiers:
Trendsetter – $19.95 per month gets you bags from Baby Phat, Betsy Johnson, DKNY, Jlo, Guess, Doony & Bourke, Nine West, Kate Spade, UGG, BCBG Girls, Tommy Hilfiger, Steve Madden and more designers who are in this similar price bracket.

Princess – $49.95 per month gets you bags from: Juicy Coutour, Cole Haan, Coach, Moschino, Michael Kors, Carlos Falchi, Kenneth Cole, Dolce & Gabbana

Diva – $99.95 gets you bags from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Chloe, Hermes, Pucci, Versace, Prada, Tod’s, Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Luella, Jimmy Choo, Isabella Fiore

Soooo – you can basically rent-your-bourgie ass a new handbag whenever you want for the monthlies depending on what your stee-lo is. After surfing the site for a minute, I realized that there are a gazillion bags in the trendsetters area for all you bagwhores up to age 28, then the princess line seems to be more of the early stages of professional women – bordering almost on the conservative, and then the diva collection is sparse, with bags that seem a bit out of season, maybe on sale, even on clearance or designer outlet designs. I’m not too sure about the cnote a month to rock clearance sale bags, but hey, if you want a marc jacobs every month, it really is a deal to pay that money instead of dishing out the 3k and being broke AND out of season 6 months later.
I will be trying this site out – call it ‘investigative research’ and I will keep you all posted. Too bad they don’t have an affiliate program – I know a gazillion bagwhores who I can refer this to. but alas, I don’t want EVERYONE knowing my shit is rented, feel me?

Unless you have been living under a rock or are not a frequent reader of my site(s), then you know about my uber handbag fetish. While browsing the INS, I found a post about Bag, Borrow or Steal. This is…

I’ve been Baggin’, Borrowin’ and Stealin’ from them for a hot minute! I’ve snatched up a couple of bags from them already, and I’ve got one being shipped to me right now.
Hell, I don’t want to be too ghetto about it, but it’s better than lay-a-way!!
Oops. Guess I went there on that ‘ghetto’ thing. Oh well. I got two hot little bags out of it, at least.

This new handbag rental idea has spread like wild fire, most fashionistas probably know by now. Your friends bag you were admiring last week, probably also renting. Great concept and you don’t have to starve yourself to get that “It Bag”

Buying is soooo overrated!

Victoria Beckham owns a mind blowing 100 plus Hermès bags (over $2 million dollars worth, according to Purseblog.com) and proudly pairs them with her A-list designer outfits. Top of the list is her 10 Birkins, including her Hermès Ostrich, Crocodile, Rouge, White and Black Clemence Hermès Birkins, and her latest birthday present from husband, David Beckham, an £80,000 Himalayan diamond studded Birkin.
However, Mrs Beckham is certainly not alone in her hankering for Hermès, as the designer label’s extensive waiting list of high profile names lays testament to.
The Allure of the Birkin
Quite what it is that causes women to go bonkers over a Birkin, remains somewhat of a mystery. The bag’s practical size (standard size is 35cm), or tough but classic lines, or simply be what the bag represents. Owning a Birkin tells the world “Look-at-me, I’ve made it big.” It’s the ultimate elite status symbol, as Hermès is one of the world’s top handbag brands, with its famous Birkin and Kelly.
With the price tag of a Birkin starting around $7,000, only the rich (and famous?) can afford to carry one on their arm. Even the wealthiest women must wait for an exquisitely stitched Hermès Birkin bag, so to own one screams exclusivity. Prices of the standard 35cm Birkin range from around $7.000 – $15,000, depending on the leather or exotic skin, with a price tag far higher for a special edition.
Hermes has stores all over the world but its hallowed HQ can be founding Paris. Its Paris workrooms produce only five Birkins per week, which explains the long waiting lists!

Its Paris workrooms produce only five Birkins per week, which explains the long waiting lists!Victoria Beckham owns a mind blowing 100 plus Hermès bags (over $2 million dollars worth, according to Purseblog.com) and proudly pairs them with her A-list designer outfits.
